Michael Gambon has passed away

Michael Gambon has passed away.
Born on October 19 1940, Gambon had a long distinguished career as an actor.
This included the 2010 Doctor Who Christmas Special A Christmas Carol in which he played the dual roles of Kazran Sardick and his father Elliot.
His character of Kazran becomes a Doctor Who companion in A Christmas Carol although this travelling companion was mostly played by Laurence Belcher and Danny Horn as his younger selves.
Before he was in Doctor Who”s A Christmas Carol, the late Michael Gambon was in an earlier version of A Christmas Carol that of the movie entitled Christmas Carol: The Movie in 2001:

In Doctor Who’s A Christmas Carol, Gambon played the Ebenezer Scrooge-like Kazran Sardick. In 2001’s Christmas Carol: The Movie he played the Ghost of Christmas Present.
In Doctor Who’s A Christmas Carol the role of Ghost of Christmas Present was filled by Karen as Amy and Amy was definitely a perfect Christmas present!
In another curio in casting Scrooge in Christmas Carol: The Movie was played by Simon Callow and Callow had played A Christmas Carol author Charles Dickens elsewhere including the Doctor Who episodes The Unquiet Dead & The Wedding of River Song.
Prior to Doctor Who’s A Christmas Carol, Gambon became well known to Harry Potter fans for playing Professor Albus Dumdledore starting with 2004’s Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, the third Harry Potter film.
His other work included The Beast Must Die, Toys, Samson and Delilah, Sleepy Hollow, Endgame, Gosford Park, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, The Omen, The Good Shepherd, Kröd Mändoon and the Flaming Sword of Fire, Fantastic Mr Fox, The Book of Eli, The King’s Speech, Comic Relief: Uptown Downstairs Abbey, Quartet, Paddington, The Casual Vacancy, Churchill’s Secret (playing real-life British Prime Minister Winston Churchill), Victoria & Abdul (playing another real-life British Prime Minsiter Lord Salisbury), Kingsman: The Golden Circle. Paddington 2, Little Women,,Johnny English Strikes Again (starring Comic Relief Ninth Doctor Rowan Atkinson as the title character) & Fortitude (also featuring official Ninth Doctor Chris Eccleston).
He died on September 27 2023, 22 days before his 83rd birthday.
